Healthy Hot Chocolate

Do you ❤ chocolate? 

I know I do! In my family, we are so hooked on dark chocolate that we have a “chocolate drawer” in our kitchen! Truth!!! 

And because I am all about how to nourish our bodies and minds, I thought I should share a few chocolate facts so that you, too, can enjoy this miraculously yummy food without even a trace of guilt!  

My recipes call specifically for raw cacao. Raw cacao powder is made by cold-pressing unroasted cocoa beans. This process keeps the living enzymes in the cocoa and removes the fat.

Healthy Hot Chocolate

This healthy hot chocolate is warming, nourishing and packed with antioxidants. It's perfect any time you want a raw guilt-free treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup nut milk of choice
  • 2 tablespoon raw cacao powder
  • 1/4 inch fresh ginger OR 1/8 teaspoon powdered
  • 1-2 dates pitted
  • Pinch of Himalayan Pink Salt
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon

Instructions

  • Combine the above ingredients in a blender until creamy. Then pour into a saucepan and heat on low to medium heat until hot, but not boiling.
  • Pour into a cup and sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.
  • Enjoy!
  • Makes 1 serving.
