25 years ago, we found out that my then young son was severely allergic to peanuts, all tree nuts, all seeds, and their oils, as well as coconut. At the time there were very few “safe” prepared snack options for him. Every meal out, every lunch at school and every birthday party was pretty much a minefield. Contamination was everywhere and throughout his life, his allergies have been life-altering.
