Healthy Hot Chocolate

Do you ❤ chocolate? 

I know I do! In my family, we are so hooked on dark chocolate that we have a “chocolate drawer” in our kitchen! Truth!!! 

And because I am all about how to nourish our bodies and minds, I thought I should share a few chocolate facts so that you, too, can enjoy this miraculously yummy food without even a trace of guilt!  

My recipes call specifically for raw cacao. Raw cacao powder is made by cold-pressing unroasted cocoa beans. This process keeps the living enzymes in the cocoa and removes the fat.

Healthy Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup nut milk of choice
  2. 2 tablespoon raw cacao powder
  3. 1/4 inch fresh ginger OR 1/8 teaspoon, powdered
  4. 1-2 dates (pitted)
  5. Pinch of Himalayan Pink Salt
  6. Pinch of cayenne pepper
  7. 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Combine the above ingredients in a blender until creamy. Then pour into a saucepan and heat on low to medium heat until hot, but not boiling.
  2. Pour into a cup and sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.
  3. Enjoy!
  4. Makes 1 serving.
